A reminder that the club’s age standard individual time trial will be held from 1330 AEST on Saturday, 15 June at the Lookout Hill course.

There will be aero and non-aero categories to cater for those riders without the TT equipment. To qualify, riders will need to use a bike with standard bars and helmet.

The event will be two laps – each lap starts at Lookout Hill with racers riding 3.5km toward Tharwa, U-turn, 5km toward Point Hut Crossing, U-turn to Lookout Hill – for a total of 20km.

The winner of the age standard time trial is determined by the rider’s time compared with the standard time that has been calculated for the rider’s age. The rider with the largest negative time difference will be crowned age standard champion.

Based on previous results, a time around five minutes below the standard is considered very competitive, and achieved by riders who medal at the national or NSW state championships. There are separate age standards for both the men’s and women’s categories.

Will one of the men remove the grip of Steve Crispin on the trophy (he was won the past two editions of this event) while can Katie Gregory go one step higher on the podium than when she finished second in 2022?

The M&H Trophy will be up for grabs, which is a perpetual trophy donated by Henry and Marylin Beaverstock. The trophies (one for men and one for women) go to those who beat their age standard time by the greatest amount. Trial riders are not eligible for medals.

Cost is $10, to register look up the event at CRMCC RMS registration cut-off is 1130 on Saturday 15 June.
