Next Road Race – Lookout Hill Time Trial – Age Standard 10 May 2025
***Volunteer Race Director and Van Driver still required for this race to go ahead***
We are still looking for two volunteers in order to be able to run the Age Standard Time Trial at Lookout Hill this weekend.
The race will begin at 13:30 and should be completed by 14:30.
If you can help with the following roles, please email committee@crmcc.org.au:
- Race Director – supported by the Marshall and Traffic Controllers, the RD responsible for ensuring the effective running of the race (confirming entrants, race timing etc.) There will be instructions provided and there will be members of the committee present to provide guidance.
- Van Driver – prepare the van (loading road signs, food and drinks etc.), drive to the race and help setup tables, signage etc., return the van to Stromlo after the event. An orientation session can be provided by a member of the committee (on the day or before) to help understand the requirements.
Note: You only need a Class C (Car) licence to drive the van, and you are covered by our comprehensive insurance policy. Also, the driver can take their bike in the van and race if desired.
There will be aero and non-aero categories to cater for those riders without TT equipment. To qualify as non-aero, riders will need to use a bike with standard bars and helmet.
20km TT course. Two laps of – Lookout Hill 3.5km toward Tharwa, U turn, 5km toward Point Hut, U turn to Lookout Hill.
Sutton Super Series
Six races will be held over the winter season at the Sutton Road Training Centre, with riders accumulating the points gained as per the list :
1st 10 points
2nd 8 points
3rd 6 points
4th 4 points
5th 3 points
6th+ 2 points
This scoring system differs from the RMS. 10 points will still be awarded to the winner even if only one rider starts the race.
Riders with the most points accumulated at the end of the series will be crowned grand champions for their grade.
Here are the main rules:
- The final round will be worth double points and riders that participate in all races will get a bonus 12 points.
- Prizes such as gift vouchers will be presented after the final race for first, second and third places.
- Riders must compete in the final race to receive a prize and be present at the prize ceremony.
- Riders who are promoted will take half their points with them to the higher grade.
- Point scores will be kept for each grade and updated after each round.
- If more than one rider finishes with the same final score, a count-back of the overall results will determine the higher place getter.
- The races may not all be scratch races, with a points race as another option.
Riders intending to compete in the series should make themselves familiar with all the rules. Any feedback will be welcome prior to the first race but it won’t be possible to make changes to the format after that.
General Meeting 13 May 2025
The Committee is calling a General Meeting to seek Members’ agreement to make two sets of amendments to our Constitution, to:
– cover required updates in line with updated ATO regulations; and
– formally allow for online pre-meeting voting.
Recent changes to ATO regulations and the ACT Government’s regulations for incorporated associations such as ours, means that our Constitution requires an update in order for us to maintain our tax-free exemption and keep our running costs as low as possible.
The updated requirement is for our Constitution to explicitly state that the CRMCC is not permitted to distribute any surplus, income or assets to CRMCC members. This requirement follows what is already mirrored in clauses of the Australian Veterans Cycling Council’s constitution, to which we ascribe, where it states that “the Association is not permitted to distribute any surplus, income or assets directly or indirectly to its members”.
The Committee has received urgent advice from our recently-completed annual report review, and from the ATO, to have these changes in place before 30 June this year.
The details for the General Meeting are as follows:
Tuesday, May 13 · 7:00 – 7:30pm
Time zone: Australia/Sydney

Pre-meeting voting survey
You may register your response to the Constitutional amendments by online voting, provided that we will get enough ‘online’ votes to pass the reforms to allow pre-meeting anonymous voting.
We are trialling the option of pre-meeting voting as a test for Special Resolution 2. You can choose to complete this survey ahead of the General Meeting, and submit your response to the Secretary. Your response will be considered assuming that Special Resolution 2 is accepted in-meeting.
The survey can be accessed at the General Meeting Special Resolutions pre-meet survey. Your vote in this survey remains anonymous.
Please reach out if you have any questions.
