Traffic Controller Training

Members, the club is desperately short of qualified event traffic controllers (ETCs) to help run our road racing program. We’re also seeking to expand our small pool of NSW-qualified ETCs. This would enable us to return to race at classic sites like Dog Trap Road, Gunning and Cooma.

If you’ve enjoyed racing with the club over the years, or if you’re a new member who wants to experience the joy of racing on the open road, please support us by volunteering to do the ETC course.

The club will pay for the costs of the course. You will receive a nationally-recognised qualification and new skills. Volunteering with the club as an ETC will also get you generous race credits.

At this stage, our course provider MBA (ACT)/Admire runs the course over three days during the week. However, if we have enough interest, we will seek to negotiate a weekend course so members do not have to take leave from work.

Please respond to committee@crmcc.org.au.

Road Racing is Coming

We have received approval for our 2026 Road Racing calendar. We have made the first few races active in the RMS Calendar and available for entries. Please remember we need volunteers for these events to go ahead. If you are available and willing to help out, please fill in your details here Volunteer Spreadsheet or email committee@crmcc.org.au

Please pencil in the following dates to your diaries:

Sunday 9am 22 March 2026 – Graded scratch race starting and finishing at Lookout Hill (please note that due to an Admin error, the previously advertised Smith’s Road race will now take place at Lookout Hill. Apologies for any disappointment).

Sunday 9am 29 March 2026 – Time Trial starting and finishing at Lookout Hill

Saturday 9am 18 April 2026 – Handicap at Apollo Road with a summit finish!

Next Race – Crits at Stromlo Forest Park – Tuesday 10 March 2026

Please note, the D/E/F/G timeslot also holds the Women’s specific criterium grade (20mins) to foster participation and confidence in riding on the Stromlo Forest Park criterium track. Perfect for women and non-binary riders who are looking for an introductory ride or those that prefer cycling in a smaller group.

Race registration cut-off is 12:40pm. Cost is $10.
You need to register by looking up the calendar entry in the RMS https://rms.crmcc.org.au/calendar
You must wear your CRMCC assigned race number to race.
Late registrations will be assessed by committee@crmcc.org.au and if allowed, a late fee of $10 will be applied.
If you are unregistered and show up to the crit track, you must convince a committee member (not the Race Director) of your club member financial status for insurance purposes, before being allowed to participate.

All riders are required to sign on before their race start.

We will be running an entry chute, where riders are called 1 by 1 onto the circuit in numerical order of sign-on.

Please remember to check the RMS Calendar for race times each week now that we are back to rotating all 3 time slots.

Race Report – SFP 03 March 2026

We arrived at the track – good news the track is dry!  Then it started to rain. And it kept going.  By the time B grade set off the track was wet, the ducks were out in force.  Not to be deterred B grade kept a team trial going for half an hour.  Then Kim decided it wasn’t hard enough and stayed on the front for lap after lap.  A nice set up for a bunch sprint with Christophe the winner from a very close battle for second between Andrew and Dougal.  By acclaim we set D and E off together, and they stayed together.  It was really wet now, but we scored a spectator!  The sign for E 2 laps to go came out and D grade decided to clear the area (thanks!).  So, it was a simple two-up sprint with Jonathon too strong for Ian.  Then 2 laps later it was D grades turn for a 2 up sprint with David winning, just,  from Rob.  Go time for A and C: but the wet word had got out and there was only one sign on – bravo Ian.  Ian declined the chance for an individual time trial and we got an early mark, leaving the spectator to do whatever he was doing.
