Back to Lookout Hill we go this Saturday 1:30pm! In the spirit of the traditional Gunning multi-stage event that has been held for many years, we are planning to run a short hot-lap time trial on the Lookout Hill course followed by a graded scratch race. This will be a points-based event rather than time-based due to the nature of the flat course. Riders will compete within their own grades on road bikes only. No time trial bikes or clip-on bars will be allowed. The idea is to ride the same set-up across the two stages.

1st 10 points

2nd 8 points

3rd 6 points

4th 4 points

5th 3 points

6th+ 2 points

This scoring system differs from the RMS. 10 points will still be awarded to the winner even if only one rider starts the race. In the event of a tie on points between riders, the rider with the fastest time trial will be declared the winner.

Saturday 1:30pm start. 10km Time Trial course. One lap starting from Lookout Hill and heading 3.5km towards Tharwa, U turn, 5km back towards Point Hut, another U turn and then back to Lookout Hill.

Standard Road Bike (non-aero) setup. A standard road bike setup is: – Drop handlebars only (no aero bars or clip-ons) – No time trial or triathlon bikes – No disc wheels.

The time trial will be immediately followed by a graded scratch race of 3 laps for all grades. 2 laps optional for lower grades if agreed by all participants with the Race Director.
