Cost is $10, with registration closing at 5pm on Friday 12th September.

The club needs 20 riders registered for the event to proceed

Sutton Super Series

Six races will be held over the winter season at the Sutton Road Training Centre, with riders accumulating the points gained as per the list :

1st 10 points

2nd 8 points

3rd 6 points

4th 4 points

5th 3 points

6th+ 2 points

This scoring system differs from the RMS. 10 points will still be awarded to the winner even if only one rider starts the race.

Riders with the most points accumulated at the end of the series will be crowned grand champions for their grade.

Here are the main rules:

  1. The final round will be worth double points and riders that participate in all races will get a bonus 12 points.
  2. Prizes such as gift vouchers will be presented after the final race for first, second and third places.
  3. Riders must compete in the final race to receive a prize and be present at the prize ceremony.
  4. Riders who are promoted will take half their points with them to the higher grade.
  5. Point scores will be kept for each grade and updated after each round.
  6. If more than one rider finishes with the same final score, a count-back of the overall results will determine the higher place getter.
  7. The races may not all be scratch races, with a points race as another option.

Riders intending to compete in the series should make themselves familiar with all the rules.  Any feedback will be welcome prior to the first race but it won’t be possible to make changes to the format after that.

Race Report – Club Championships – Uriarra Homestead

A Poetic Look at Uriarra

The spring sun shone, the air was warm and clear, A perfect day for shifting up a gear. Thirty-two riders answered the call to race, (Though M1s, it seems, had vanished from the place).

The bunches left at a one-minute pace, But Dan Lekhac had won the time and space. A solo move right from the very start, He rode with courage, power, and with heart. The chasers formed a valiant, hopeful train, But Dan was gone, they’d not see him again.

Yet back in the other races, a battle was on show, between Rainer and Moshy. A rumour spread, a whisper on the breeze, Of “standard Rainer,” sitting on with ease. But when the final sprint came into sight, It was Moshy’s kick that burned so very bright!

The course itself held dramas unforeseen, Three different police cars appeared upon the scene! Two unmarked, one flashing blue and white, (They weren’t for us, but what a curious sight!) Add one trail bike, aggressive and un-plated, who left our marshals feeling frustrated.

A serious note, a rule we must hold dear, Please keep your line, the message must be clear. A rider crossed the doubles, so we’re told, A risky move, unnecessarily bold. Let’s keep it safe for everyone we race, And leave the other side of the road its space.

And one last note that shows our club has heart, A thing that sets this special group apart. The presentations patiently were held, As for the final rider, cheers were yelled. We waited ’til the racing was all done, Supporting every rider, one by one.

So thank you to the team who make it run, The ETCs out beneath the spring-time sun. And to the committee, for all your work and time, For putting on a race that was sublime.
