2017 Australian Veterans Road Race Championship
Today (Saturday, 15 April) Mark Taylor won the Australian Veterans Road Race Championship in his age category (65-69) in Maryborough, Victoria. Mark won with a withering sprint from a pack that had foolishly allowed him to sprint for the win.
The small contingent of ACT riders have exceeded expectations at the 2017 AVCC National Titles held in Maryborough Victoria this Easter long weekend. As far as I am aware the ACT Vets had three medalists out of around 10 riders. Mark Taylor (middle) topped the podium for Gold in his age category, then backed it up with another Gold in today’s Criterium. Owain Tilley (left) won silver for his efforts in the 60-64 age group Time Trial yesterday and Michael Fawke (right) bronzed in the 45-49 Time Trail. I seem to recall Michael also bronzed in the road race as well. I haven’t seen the official write up of the results so if I missed you let us know for next weeks Bleat! Well done to all ACT members that attended the event.
