Lookout Hill Age Standard Time Trial Saturday 29 August 2026 1:30PM

This will be our 2026 M&H Perpetual Trophy for Age Standard Time Trial. These trophies were donated by Marilyn and Henry Beaverstock.

There will be separate categories for Aero and Standard Road Bike (non-aero) setup. A standard road bike setup is: – Drop handlebars only (no aero bars or clip-ons) – No time trial or triathlon bikes – No disc wheels

20km TT course. Two laps of – Lookout Hill 3.5km toward Tharwa, U turn, 5km toward Point Hut, U turn back to Lookout Hill.

Google maps calls this Lambrigg’s Lookout, on Tidbinbilla Road about 2.5 km towards Tharwa from Point Hut / Tidbinbilla Rd intersection (or about 4.5 km from Tharwa village).

Registration cut-off is 28 August 2026 at 6:30pm. Note, we will extend the cut-off if a minimum number of riders is reached by this time. If a minimum number is not reached, we will consider rescheduling the event. Further note, we are still waiting on road approvals for this event to go ahead. What’s an age standard TT courtesy of our handicapper Rob Langridge:

Similar to all time trials, it’s a battle between the rider and the clock, however, the overall winner may not be the fastest rider but the competitor who has the best time compared with their age standard.

The age standard trendline has been calculated from past AVCC TT performances by riders of varying ages.

From this, we can calculate a ‘standard’ for any male or female rider. Naturally, the standard for a 30 year old is much lower than someone in their 70s.

The overall winner will be the rider whose time is the lowest against their standard for 20km . Usually, around four minutes under the standard is a very good time.

You must wear your CRMCC assigned number to race.
