The Apollo – graded scratch race – Saturday 27 April from 1330 AEST

One of the club’s classic races is this Saturday – The Apollo graded scratch race. The race will begin on Apollo Road near the T-junction with Naas Road, with the finish at the Honeysuckle Creek campground.

Racers will turn on to Naas Road, ride approximately 9km including over Mount Tennent, u-turn near the Aero model club, for a return 9km over Mt Tennent before turning right on to Apollo Road, with around a further 9km to the finish.

Riders, who park at the Honeysuckle Creek campground can wear extra clothing for the descent to the start, where this gear will be collected and brought to the finish.

Thanks to race director Peta Brill, ETC Ben Healy, ETC Brian Peak, marshal Jonathan Chowns and van driver David Gunther for volunteering their time to help the club run the event.

The race is a graded scratch event. Race registration cut-off is 11:30 on Saturday 27 April, cost is $10.
You need to register by looking up the calendar entry in the RMS https://rms.crmcc.org.au/calendar .
Members must wear their CRMCC assigned race number to race.
Late registrations will be assessed by Race.committee@crmcc.org.au and if allowed, a late fee of $10 will be applied.
If you are unregistered and show up to the start, you must convince a committee member (not the Race Director) of your club member financial status for insurance purposes, before being allowed to participate.

The forecast is a very high chance of no rain with a top of 20 degrees, so great conditions for a race in the Brindabellas.
